DISTRICTS 1-2-3-4 • standard, single elimination district tournament DISTRICTS 5-6 • no district tournament REGION TOURNAMENTS • standard, single elimination region tournamenet • top 4 teams from each region advance to STATE bracket STATE TOURNAMENT • 12 teams qualify for STATE, 4 from each region (East, Middle, West) • 3 Region Champions receive a bye to the STATE QUARTERFINAL round • 1 Region Runner-Up (2025-26 is EAST #2) receives a bye to the STATE QUARTERFINAL round (3 year rotation cycle) • Remaining qualifiers play in the STATE XII round DII-AA BASKETBALL (B) REGION TOURNAMENTS EAST: Region Tournament - Play-in game: 4v5 - Semifinals: 1 vs 4/5 winner, 2 vs 3 - Final & 3rd place game - Top 3 teams advance to STATE bracket MIDDLE: Region Tournament - First Round: 6v7 - Second Round: 3 vs 6/7 winner, 4 vs 5 - 5th place game: 3/6/7 loser vs 4/5 loser - Semifinals: 1 vs 4/5, 2 vs 3/6/7 - Top 5 teams advance to STATE bracket WEST: no tournament, all 3 teams advance to STATE bracket STATE TOURNAMENT • 12 teams qualify for STATE: East-4, Middle-5, West-3 • 2-3-4-5 seeds play in STATE XII round, winners advance to quarterfinals - (3) 1 & (1) 2 seeds enter in quarterfinal round |
