CROSS COUNTRY / GOLF

The sports of CROSS COUNTRY and GOLF are set up a little differently due to the lack of a tradtional district / region schedule and due to these sports having both a team and individual element to them.

CROSS COUNTRY A

• The top (5) teams from each of the three regions qualify for state for a total of (6) teams in DII-A

• The top (5) individuals NOT ON THE TOP 5 TEAMS from each of the three regions qualify for state for a total of (15) additional runners in DII-A

• Teams consist of 5-7 runners, with the top 4 runners providing the team score

CROSS COUNTRY AA

• No region meets, all DII-AA schools qualify for the state meet

• Teams consist of 5-7 runners, with the top 4 runners providing the team score

GOLF A

• Teams consist of 4-5 (BOYS) and 2-3 (GIRLS)

• Top 4 (BOYS) and Top 2 (GIRLS) provide the team score

DISTRICT TOURNAMENT (1-2-3-4-5-6)

• The top (3) teams from each DISTRICT tournament qualify for the REGION tournament

• The top (5) individuals NOT ON THE TOP 3 TEAMS from each district tournament qualify for the region tournament

REGION TOURNAMENT (EAST-MIDDLE-WEST)

• The top (2) teams from each REGION tournament qualify for the STATE tournament

• The top (2) individuals NOT ON THE TOP 2 TEAMS from each REGION tournament qualify for the STATE tournament

Each REGION tournament will have 6 teams + 10 additional golfers

• District 1+2 qualifiers = EAST Region tournament

• District 3+4 qualifiers = MIDDLE Region tournament

• District 5+6 qualifiers = WEST Region tournament
